# Connecting Klarna to your online store

Klarna is one of the world's leading payment services that allows you to collect instant payments in your online store.

# Connecting Klarna to your online store

1. [Register](https://portal.klarna.com/products/signup/basic-info) a new account **①** or [login](https://auth.eu.portal.klarna.com/auth/realms/merchants/protocol/openid-connect/auth?client_id=merchant-portal&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fportal.klarna.com%2F%3Futm_source%3Dklarnacom%26utm_campaign%3D%2Finternational%2F%26utm_medium%3Dreferral%26utm_content%3Dklarnacom-link&state=e0194e46-0c5a-4ec4-889b-90f2c4b317a2&response_mode=fragment&response_type=code&scope=openid&nonce=e8b6c77e-6d54-46c3-a466-d2443010c7ed&code_challenge=bn2OrLRKiLrlfgZSSQlpf0SuMFowU_ybIe-Z8GL6jjU&code_challenge_method=S256) to an existing account **②** on Klarna for business:

2. In your Klarna account, select your currency [AUD, EUR, CAD, CZK, DKK, HUF, MXN, NZD, NOK, PLN, RON, SEK, CHF, GBP, USD]. During registration, you will also be asked to select your region [Europe, Oceania, North America]. Select the desired country in one of these regions:

**_Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland (Republic of Ireland), Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States._**

3. After you complete the registration process and get your business account, log in there.
Then go to the **Payment Settings** section, select the **Klarna API Credentials** subsection, and click the **Generate new Klarna API credentials** button:

4. Save your credentials, then check the box and click the **Close** button:

5. Go to the **Your Store** section, then to the **Payment methods** subsection in your site settings on Weblium, and click on the **Add** button next to **Klarna**:

6. Paste your **Username (UID) ①** and **Password ②** into the appropriate fields:

7. To the **Success redirect URL ③** and **Failure redirect URL ④** fields, you can add links to your custom success and failure pages you had created.

8. Specify the country you have previously selected in your Klarna account during the registration process in the corresponding field **⑤**.

9. After all the fields are filled in correctly, save the changes:

10. [Publish](https://help.weblium.com/en-us/article/publishing-a-site-tgxmch/) your site for the changes to take effect.

###### Deactivating the payment method
If necessary, you can hide the payment system without deleting it.
For that, return to the **Payment methods** section, and in the **Connected payment methods** subsection, turn the switch off:

# Connecting Klarna to work in test mode

You can connect Klarna in test mode to check the operation of the payment method without using your own bank card.

1. Log in to the test account via [this link](https://auth.playground.eu.portal.klarna.com/auth/realms/merchants/protocol/openid-connect/auth?client_id=merchant-portal&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fportal.playground.klarna.com%2Fsettings&state=63077a43-5f4e-422e-8975-6d78f33b4774&response_mode=fragment&response_type=code&scope=openid&nonce=9fda30b6-03cb-4de4-8507-1000cb98b062&code_challenge=7MhjcQ5MzdWPVJvKx7OgNbGEN9q2WUq6VsV2MG-Are4&code_challenge_method=S256).

2. Here, you need to generate your test credentials the same way as specified in the previous chapter of this article:

|| ${color}[#FFA800](Note:) You might notice the yellow outline along the perimeter of the page. This indicates that you are logging in to a Klarna test account.

3. Go back to Weblium, activate the **Test mode**, and paste those credentials to the corresponding fields **①** и **②**:

||| ${color}[#F97700](Important:) The non-test mode fields marked with an asterisk below must also be filled in. You can enter the same sandbox credentials there if you have not entered data for real payments.
