# Disabling snap to objects function

Element snapping occurs when it gets closer than 5 px to another freely arranged element, a block's boundary or center. At the same time, a red line will highlight the border to which snapping occurred. This allows you to conveniently place elements in 1 line or close to each other.

| ${color}[#1aa900](Tip:) Snapping doesn't work when moving elements using keyboard arrows. It is convenient if you need to place an element less than 5 px away from the boundary to which snapping may occur.

You can disable the automatic snapping of elements to other objects in Flex block. This may be necessary if you need to be able to place elements closer than 5 pixels to each other and other objects using the mouse.

# Disable snapping to objects

1. Click on the **Tools** button in the upper right corner of the editor and turn off the **Snap to object** checkbox:

### Objects to which snapping occurs
Snapping to object happens when you are 5 pixels closer to the following objects:
1. Another element;
2. A block boundary;
3. The center of the block;
4. When the **border** of an element approaches a line that can be drawn from the border or center of other elements;
5. When the **center** of an element approaches a line that can be drawn from the border or center of other elements.
 
|| ${color}[#ffa800](Note:) Snapping to objects also takes place when elements (e.g. text or image) are resized, if the element is closer than 5 pixels to another object (element, block borders, etc.) after resizing.
| ${color}[#1aa900](Tip:) Also, snap to objects occurs when you rotate elements up to every 15 degrees of rotation, when the element is 3° away from an angle that is a multiple of 15. When you rotate the element, and it reaches 12° of rotation, it will automatically rotate to 15°. Similarly, it will rotate to 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, etc.
