Mass import of redirects
Mass import of redirects is a useful tool for managing URLs on large sites, it allows you to efficiently forward users from old or irrelevant links to new ones while maintaining traffic. This approach helps to avoid position loss in search results, and reduces 404 errors.
Tip: For individual pages, redirects can be set manually, using information from the article Setting up redirects.
In case you need to set up multiple redirects, you can do it with the help of Support. You can create a spreadsheet file with your redirects based on our template, and send the file in .csv format along with a link to your website to us via chat or email support@weblium.com. A template spreadsheet for mass redirect importing is available in the following Google Sheets link: Mass redirect import.
Redirect 302 – temporary redirect, the old URL will remain indexed. Usually the new link is not indexed, although sometimes, depending on the context, the search engine may index the new URL even if redirect 302 is used.
Redirect 301 – permanent redirect, it gives a signal to indexing bots that the old URL can no longer be visited, thus the old URL will eventually be removed from the search engine index. The process of removing the old URL from the index is automatic and may take some time.
