Group elements in Flex block

In this tutorial, you will learn how to group elements, manage them, and ungroup them when necessary. This will help you work with multiple elements at once and keep your layout organized.

How to group elements


  1. Select the necessary elements: drag the mouse over the area containing them or hold down Shift and click on each desired element.


  1. Click on the three dots in the menu that appears and select the Group option:

Note: You can also use the Command+G key combination (or Ctrl+G for Windows) to group elements.


Actions with a group of elements


A group of elements will behave similarly to individual elements with absolute positioning.


You can move it within the block, change its alignment, size, layer relative to other elements and groups, etc. For more information on basic actions with absolute elements within a Flex block, see our article.


You can also copy elements into a group. To do this, copy the element, click on the group where you want to paste it, then use the paste Command+V key combination (or Ctrl+V for Windows) or click the three dots in the menu and select the Paste option.

Actions with elements within a group


To access the settings for a specific individual element in a group, double-click on it.


You will have access to the usual settings for the corresponding element, and you will also be able to change its size, layer on which an element is located in a group, position, and alignment within the group.


How to ungroup elements


To ungroup elements, click on the group you want and click on the three dots. In the menu, you will see the Ungroup option:
