Managing DNS records

If you connected your domain via NS method or purchased your domain through Weblium, all further changes to your domain will be done via our platform.

To manage the domain, you can add and remove the necessary domain records in the DNS section of your account. To gain access to it, follow the steps below.

Note: Make sure that your domain connection is successful. Record management may not be available immediately after purchasing/connecting a domain. If you do not see this option yet, please wait and check back later.

Important: In the DNS settings, there will be two technical records that are necessary for the domain to work. Do not delete or edit them, you can learn more about them in the following section of the article.

Managing DNS records

  1. For that, open the Settings of your site and navigate to the Domains tab.

  1. Hover over your domain, click on the three dots in the corner and choose Manage DNS Records option in the drop-down menu:

Note: Record management may not be available immediately after purchasing/connecting a domain. If you do not see this option yet, please wait and check back later.

Tip: You can also access these settings via the Domains section of your account's main menu.

  1. In the new window click on the Add new DNS record:

  1. Select the relevant type of the record you want to add, write down the needed Host name and where it should be pointed to:

Important: The Host field (Name, Hostname, etc. in other services) contains the domain whose records you are editing by default. Some record providers, when connecting mail, etc., may ask you to enter a specific subdomain in this field, for example, _domainkey.example.com, where example.com is your domain. According to the earlier point, when you have a value that includes your domain, you should only enter what comes before it in the Host field, which in our example is _domainkey. If you enter the original value you received, _domainkey.example.com, you will end up creating _domainkey.example.com.example.com, and the service from which you received this record will not see it, and you will not be able to pass verification or successfully configure your email, etc. Also, in certain situations, you may not receive a value for the Name field at all, or they may simply specify your domain, not a specific subdomain. In such cases, you need to leave the Host field blank. Alternatively, you can write the symbol @ there — both options will indicate that the record applies to the entire domain.

Tip: You can add A, AAAA, MX, CNAME or TXT record to your domain via our panel. Also, if you need to add a SRV record, you can contact our support via chat or email support@weblium.com. We can add such a record based on the instructions provided to you by a third-party service.

  1. Click Save and let the records pass the propagation.

Note: Please note that after any changes to records — whether editing or adding a new record — they do not take effect immediately. It always takes time for the new information to be distributed across servers worldwide.

Note: You can delete or edit your existing records here:

Technical records of the domain

When you connect or purchase a domain, two records will be automatically added to its DNS settings — ALIAS and CNAME. They are necessary for the domain to work correctly with the platform, so do not edit or delete them.

If you did, you can find these records below and re-add or edit them:

Record type: ALIAS.

Host: leave blank.

Directed to: dns.sdata.app

Record type: CNAME

Host: www

Directed to: @

Note: Please note that after any changes to records — whether editing or adding a new record — they do not take effect immediately. It always takes time for the new information to be distributed across servers worldwide.
