Displaying collection items in 2 columns
You can place collection items (cards) in a block in 2 columns for the mobile version of the site — this way, visitors to your site will see more content on smartphones at the same time. At the same time, if you want the content (images, text, etc.) in each collection item to be larger, you can display the collection cards in 1 column, meaning they will take up the entire width of the smartphone screen (this display option is chosen by default).
Often, the display of collection items in 2 columns is used when the “Product” element is placed in them (for example, in the “Products” block).
Tip: you can learn how to arrange products in 2 columns on the store pages in this guide.
Before changing the display of collection items on mobile devices, you need to switch to the mobile version editor. You can do this by clicking on the mobile phone icon both at the top of the editor and directly in the settings of a particular element:
Open the Collection Settings by clicking on the “gear” at the top of the collection item and select the display of two Items in row for the mobile version of the site:
Note: this feature works for all blocks built on the basis of our collections, except for blocks with the following names: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, and Medford.
Publish the site to apply the changes.
