Domain connection issues

When you connect your domain to a site on Weblium, it may take up to 24-48 hours before the records you changed for the connection are updated globally. This is a standard procedure, the speed of which depends on the speed of information updates from different providers. During this time, the connection may be unstable and the site may not be available on all devices, and you may also see a negative status in the system — this is absolutely normal and expected.

If enough time has passed but the domain is still down, or you just want to check if you have set up the records correctly, pay attention to the following points.

Important: First, check if your domain is connected to the site — it should be present in the Domains section of the corresponding site settings. If you simply added a domain through the main menu of your account, in the Domains section, you can connect it to the site there — just click on the three dots opposite the name of the domain you need, and you will see the corresponding option.

Important: When you add your domain in the site settings, you should enter only the name of your domain in the corresponding field, without any extra characters such as www, http protocol, slashes (“/”), etc.

For domains purchased through Weblium

  1. Make sure that at least 24 hours have passed since the purchase — when you purchase a domain, its records are changed to ours so that the domain can work with the platform and their update does not happen instantly, on average it takes up to 24-48 hours.

  1. Make sure that after connecting the domain, you did not delete or edit the standard records that are added automatically in DNS settings of your domain on our side. If you did, you can find these records below and re-add or edit them:

Record type: ALIAS.

Host: leave blank.

Directed to: dns.sdata.app

Record type: CNAME

Host: www

Directed to: @

  1. Check if there are any entries in the domain settings that could direct it to another platform, such as:

Record type: A

Host: empty or @

Directed to: IP of a different platform

If such a record is present, it should be deleted.

Note: please note that after any changes to the records, whether it is editing or adding a new record, they do not update instantly. They always need time to update.

  1. Check if your domain is connected to the site — it should be present in the Domains section of the corresponding site settings. If you simply added a domain through the main menu of your account, in the Domains tab, you can connect it to the site there — just click on the three dots opposite the name of the domain you need, and you will see the corresponding option.

For the A-record connection method

  1. Make sure you enter the correct records without errors in the corresponding fields:

  • The first one for the general domain connection to the platform:

Record type: А

Host (can also be called "Name" on some platforms): you can leave it blank or enter @

Pointed to: 35.187.82.108

  • And a second optional record in order to ensure that when your domain is opened with "www" it is redirected to the main domain (for example, if you click on the link www.example.com, it will be redirected to example.com):

Record type: А

Host: www

Pointed to: 35.187.82.108

  1. Make sure that you do not have any other A and AAAA records added with the same value in the Host (Name) field as the connection records you added. If there are, delete them.

Note: please note that after any changes to the records, whether it's editing, adding a new record, or deleting, they don't update immediately. They always need time to update.

Important: if you use Cloudflare and have enabled a proxy for your records, you may see a negative status — this is absolutely normal, as the system checks for our records, and when using a proxy, they are hidden. The recommended mode for an SSL certificate is Full.

  1. Make sure that enough time has passed since the records were changed — it takes up to 24-48 hours for records to be updated on average.

If you simply added a domain through the main menu of your account, in the Domains tab, you can connect it to the site there — just click on the three dots opposite the name of the domain you need, and you will see the corresponding option.

For the NS connection method

  1. Make sure that you have entered the correct records without errors in the corresponding fields:

  1. It is important that you only have our NS listed, you need to delete all NS that were present before.

  1. Make sure that after connecting the domain, you did not delete or edit the standard records that are added automatically in DNS settings of your domain on our side. If you did, you can find these records below and re-add or edit them:

Record type: ALIAS.

Host: leave blank.

Domain is not accessible in France

Recently, we have noticed in issue related to a specific French server that does not update the DNS records. It's easily spotted via any DNS-checker service, you'll see a localhost IP 127.0.0.1:

To troubleshoot this issue on your end, please try the following basic steps:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies – sometimes, stored data can interfere with loading updated website records.
  2. Restart your WiFi router – a simple reboot can refresh your connection and resolve minor network-related issues.

If the issue persists, we would need more information to investigate further. Please provide us in chat or via email support@weblium.com with the following details:

  • Your domain name;
  • Your location (city and country);
  • Your Internet Provider;
  • The browser and operating system (OS) you are using.

Additionally, we recommend trying an alternative DNS service, such as Google or Cloudflare DNS, to see if that resolves the issue. Here’s how you can set them up:

Please try these steps and let us know in chat or via email support@weblium.com if you’re able to access the website afterward.
