Getting started with a blank template

Weblium offers an easy-to-use site editor that allows you to create and manage a site with just a few clicks with the help of pre-designed blocks. You don't need to have additional programming skills to enjoy the convenience and simplicity of creating websites on our platform.

Even though we offer more than 290 ready-to-use templates, you can start your website from scratch with a blank canvas. This option is suitable for those who seek maximum freedom in design. However, we recommend to use the blank template only if you are already familiar with website development.

Getting started with a blank template

Sign up or log in to the existing account on Weblium.

Click Create site on your dashboard:

Click Blank website (advanced) at the top:

Tip: View the Customizing the ready-made template article in case you want to use one of our pre-designed options.

Once you have opened your site editor, click on Add Block:

On the left panel you will see all the available blocks — they are divided into Essential and Additional:

Here, it’s up to you to choose what blocks to use to build your stunning site with us.

Tip: If none of our pre-designed options meets your needs, check the Adding a custom block article to create your own block.

Click on the block itself to add it to the site. If you want to know more about how to proceed with customizing your block, see our article Changing the design of a block.

You can add additional elements to the chosen block anytime — for example, icons, dividers, lists, etc. For that, hover over the block, click on the "plus" and choose elements in the pop-up menu:

Tip: Check the Managing elements article for detailed information regarding the columns, collections or basic actions with elements.

Change the content of the blocks to describe what you company is about — change the text or insert your own images. Check the article Editing images to see how you can edit the images and adjust their position in the placeholder.

Add a click action for the elements on your site. It will redirect your visitors to another page, web address, etc. To set it up, follow the steps in the article Adding links to elements (click action).

You can set up the color palette in the Site Style tab to define the main of colors to use in design. In this tab you can also change the font of your text and customize the global button style. For that, click on the three dots near the Preview button in the toolbar and access the Site style:

Publish your site for the changes to be visible to the site visitors. You can still edit the site after it was published.

It's usually recommended to adhere to the general structure of the site to provide the best user experience for your visitors. Thus, the sites usually contain the top block — header — with the navigation menu, logo, language menu, etc. At the very bottom of the site creators usually place a footer, which contains all necessary contact information about your company. To collect requests and feedback from your future customers, you should place a contact/ lead generation form on your site.

It's up to you how you will further design your site — choose blocks to represent the services, the team or the process of your work, add new pages, set up a video, etc.
