Importing products into Your Store

Import of the products allows you to add a large number of products to your online store at once. You can use it when switching from another platform, or when you create your own store on Weblium and want to upload several products simultaneously.

Importing products

To import products into your store, you need to go to the list of products in your site's settings and click on the Import button:

The system will then offer you to choose one of the available options:

Weblium Store.

This option is for those users who need to create products from scratch, or transfer information from platforms from which we do not yet support automatic import of products. In the window of this option there is also a download button for our template, click on it and select the appropriate separator to download the file to your device.

Other platforms

Select this option if you already have an export file with the products from the following platforms: Shopify, Tilda, Ecwid.

Important: if some product properties of another platform are not supported on Weblium (respectively, there are no fields for them in the export/import file), they will not be taken into account and displayed in the product list after importing.

Working with the Weblium import template.

After pressing the button to download the template, you will receive a file in the format .csv. We recommend working with it through Google Sheets, because Excel does not always open this type of file correctly.

You can import the downloaded file into Google Sheets like this:

In the screenshot below, you can see a variation of filling the table using a template product as an example:

Let's look at the fields in order:

ID - mandatory field; based on this field a link to your product will be generated - for example, if your site domain is and ID value is product-one, then URL (link) of this product will be The field supports latin characters, numbers and hyphens (-). The field must be unique and not repeated in other products. If the product has variants, this field must be the same for all product variants.

Note: If no product with the same ID exists in the store during import, a new product will be created. If an item with this ID already exists, it will be overwritten (updated).

Variant - used to indicate variants of a single product. This field only supports numbers. Leave this field empty when importing new products. If you are importing previously exported products that already have a value in the Variant column, do not change this value.

Name - mandatory field; the name of your product. The number of characters allowed - from 3 to 250.

Description - the description of your product, which visitors will be able to see on the product page. The maximum number of characters is 5 000.

Visibility - your product's visibility on your website, whether or not the product will be displayed on the published version of the website. Can be set to "yes" (the product is published) or "no" (draft).

Availability - sets the availability of your product. The field can contain the following values: "in_stock", "available_for_order", "out_of_stock", "coming_soon".

Track Inventory - in this field, you can specify if you want to track the amount of the item in stock. It can be set to "yes" or "no", respectively.

Inventory saldo - if you indicated "yes" in the previous column, you can specify the quantity of the item in stock in this field. The value cannot be negative, and only numbers are allowed to be used in the field.

SKU - obligatory field. It may contain latin characters, as well as digits and symbols. The minimum number of symbols in this field is 3, the maximum is 100.

Old Price - the base price of the product; mandatory field. If the price includes cents, a dot should be placed between the integer part and the fractional part. An example of the value: 199.99

Sale price - in this field you can specify the discounted price of the product. It must be less than the value in the "Old Price" column. The imported product will have a fixed discount equal to the difference between the values of "Old Price" and "Sale price". If the product price includes cents, there must be a dot between the integer part and the fractional part. An example of the value: 150.20

Categories - in this field you can specify to which categories the product belongs. A few things to note:

ㅤㅤ• If you need to add a product at once in two or more categories, they must be written in one cell, but on separate lines. In most spreadsheet editors, you can make a separate line inside a cell using the Alt+Enter (Windows) or Control+Option+Enter (macOS) key combinations;
ㅤㅤ• The first place in the category list should be the main product category;
ㅤㅤ• If you need to add a product to a subcategory, you must specify it in the format `Main category name/subcategory name';
ㅤㅤ• If the category or subcategory you have specified has not been previously created in the site settings, it will be created automatically during import.

An example of a filled cell in the column "Categories" for a product, which will be added to the 3 categories ("Main Product Category", "Non-main Product Category" and "Category's #1 Subcategory"):

Main product category
Non-main product category
Category #1/Subcategory #1

Tags - optional field, its value is not displayed on the product page or in its settings and is reserved for use in future features.

Keywords - product page keywords for its SEO optimization in search engines. They can also be used to find an item in your store using product search. Use a comma as a separator if you enter more than one keyword. The maximum number of characters is 255.

SEO title - specifies the title (tag <title>) for the product page, which will be displayed in search engines and browser tabs. If this value is not specified, the name of the product will be used as the tag <title>. The maximum number of characters is 70.

SEO description: - brief description of your product page, which will be displayed by search engines in search results. The maximum number of characters is 320.

SEO NOT Searchable - indicates whether search engines are prohibited from indexing this product page (whether this product will be hidden in search results, for example, on Google). It can have the value yes (the product is closed from indexing) or no (the product is available for indexing), respectively.

Note: until December 2023, this parameter was called "SEO Searchable" - if you import products using an old import file (where "SEO Searchable" is specified instead of "SEO NOT Searchable"), this field will not be taken into account by the system and all products will be open for indexing by default.

Attributes - adds attributes to the product, such as age, gender, brand and others. Filled in the format Attribute name: value (with a space after a colon). If you want to add several attributes to the product, you have to write them in one cell, but on separate lines.

If you want to add not a custom attribute, but one of the three attributes provided by our system ("Brand", "Age group", "Gender"), then before the attribute name you must add in square quotes in the beginning of the line identifier of the attribute provided by our system ("Brand" - [brand], "Age group" - [age_group], "Gender" - [gender]). An example of a filled cell in the "Attributes" column to add 4 attributes:

Your custom attribute: Custom attribute value
[gender]Gender]: Any gender
[age_group]: Age Group: 16+
[brand]Brand: Weblium

Note: each of the attributes provided by our system must be unique, that is, you can not add for one product 2 attributes with [brand] in the beginning (as well as with [age_group] and [gender]).

Images - allows you to add images to the product, which have already been added to other products in the settings of the site on Weblium. That is, each individual image for the first time can be added only in the settings of the site when editing the product. However, if this product with the added image is exported afterwards, links to its images can be added to other products. Each image is added in a separate line in the format [noname|gallery](, where the link to the image in our database is specified in semicircular brackets. The main image of the product must contain at the beginning of the line symbol *. You can also add to the product video format [noname|video|gallery](, where s_qWAI7KOk - the ID of your video from YouTube (what goes after and before the first symbol &).

Note: currently you can add videos to products only by using a link to your YouTube video.

Tip: unlike images, videos from YouTube can be added to products during import directly, without any pre-loading on the Weblium side in the settings of a particular product.

Important: videos cannot be the main product image (there must be no * symbol before the line that adds a video ).

Example of filled in images cell (these images were copied from exported product, i.e. they were previously uploaded to goods in Weblium site settings). In the first line the main image of the product, in the second line - the usual image, in the third - video from YouTube:

URL - this field is not filled and is not editable in the future. When exporting products, it will contain a link to the product page, so that you can open it more easily when editing the file, if necessary.

Adding variant products.

Adding product parameters, such as color, size, etc., is done by adding an Option column. You need a separate column for each parameter and a new row for each product variation. Thus, if we have two parameters: color and size, and each of these parameters will have two values, the last two columns of the table will look like this:

The value of the parameter is entered in the format Parameter name: value (for example, Color: red)

When you add variants of the product is important that each product variant must have the same fields filled in (although the information in them may be different, such as price or SKU). At the same time, all product variants must have the same ID.

Tip: You can create a test product in your store, export it and use it as a template to import other products, which may be more convenient than working with an empty template.

Note: both for the Weblium template file and for files from another platform, the following restrictions apply: the file size should not exceed 10 MB and the maximum number of products is 1000. If you have a larger number of products, they must be uploaded by separate import files.
