Global blocks

Global blocks help you save time on editing your site. By making a block global, you can make changes in just one place — and they will be automatically applied to all pages where this block is used. This greatly simplifies content management and allows you to update landing pages with just a few clicks.

Contents:
Global header and footer
Adding multiple global headers/footers
Global blocks
Global blocks on multilingual sites

All global blocks have a yellow icon in the upper right corner:

Global header and footer

There are two ways to make the header or footer of your site global.

Adding a global block

First, select the header or footer from the blocks gallery.

Click on the desired block and select the Add to all pages option in the window that opens:

Making an existing block global

Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the block and select the Set as global option from the drop-down list:

Note: There is currently no way to convert a global header or footer back to a non-global block. You can either hide this block on certain pages or remove it completely and add it again as a regular block.

Adding multiple global headers/footers

You can have multiple global headers and/or footers on your site.
The process of adding an additional global block does not differ from the similar process of adding the first global block, which is described in the previous section of this article.

Important: At the moment, the sticky and header transparency options will not work if 2 or more global headers are added to the site.

Note: if you want to display one global block on certain pages and another one on other pages, you can hide each of them separately on the pages you need using the tips from this article.

Global blocks

Other blocks on your website can also be global. To make a certain block of your site global, follow these steps:

Navigate to the corresponding block in the editor and click on the three dots next to the block settings icon, then select Global block from the drop-down menu:

Done! To add the same block to another page, click on Add Block and you will see it in the new Global Blocks section:

... or you can just copy it to the pages you need right away:

Important: Global blocks, unlike global headers or footers, are not automatically duplicated to all pages of your site.

In the blocks gallery, you can set custom names for your global blocks, delete them, and quickly jump to editing the block you need:

You can also turn off Global option for a specific block:

Note: this will only affect the block through the settings of which you disabled globalization — copies of this block on other pages will remain global.

Global blocks on multilingual sites

If you have a multilingual site, the global header/footer and global blocks are independent for each language version. You can edit these blocks separately from each other.

When you view the blocks gallery, the Global blocks category will contain the blocks that exist within the language version you are editing.

Tip: You can learn more about global blocks in multilingual setup in this article.
