Connecting Klarna to your online store

Klarna is one of the world's leading payment services that allows you to collect instant payments in your online store.

Important: Payment methods are available on websites with paid and Trial subscriptions.

Connecting Klarna to your online store



Register a new account or login to an existing account on Klarna for business:


In your Klarna account, specify the currency ["AUD", "CAD", "CHF", "DKK", "EUR", "GBP", "JPY", "NOK", "NZD", "PLN", "SEK", "USD"]. Also, during the registration process, you'll be asked to choose a region ["Europe", "Oceania", "North America"]. Choose a country according to these regions:

ㅤㅤㅤ• North_America — ["CA", "US"]
ㅤㅤㅤ• Europe — ["SE", "CH", "DK", "DE", "GB", "NO", "NL", "PL", "FI"]
ㅤㅤㅤ• Oceania — ["AU", "JP", "NZ"]

After you complete the registration process and get your business account, log in there.
Then go to the Payment Settings section, select the Klarna API Credentials subsection, and click the Generate new Klarna API credentials button:


Save your credentials, then check the box and click the Close button:


Go to the Your Store section, then to the Payment methods subsection in your site settings on Weblium, and click on the Add button next to Klarna:


Paste your Username (UID) ① and Password ② into the appropriate fields:


To the Success redirect URL ③ and Failure redirect URL ④ fields, you can add links to your custom success and failure pages you had created.

Important: You should paste the links that start from https://.

Specify the country you have previously selected in your Klarna account during the registration process in the corresponding field .

Note: The currency in your Klarna account must match the one in your store settings on Weblium and correspond to the specified country.

After all the fields are filled in correctly, save the changes:

Publish your site for the changes to take effect.

Deactivating a payment method

If necessary, you can hide the payment system without deleting it.
For that, return to the Payment methods section, and in the Connected payment methods subsection, turn the switch off:


Connecting Klarna to work in test mode



You can connect Klarna in test mode to check the operation of the payment method without using your own bank card.

Log in to the test account via this link.

Tip: More information about the test mode can be found in the documentation from Klarna.

Here, you need to generate your test credentials the same way as specified in the previous chapter of this article:


Note: You might notice the yellow outline along the perimeter of the page. This indicates that you are logging in to a Klarna test account.

Go back to Weblium, activate the Test mode, and paste those credentials to the corresponding fields и :


Important: The non-test mode fields marked with an asterisk below must also be filled in. You can enter the same sandbox credentials there if you have not entered data for real payments.

Save changes and publish your website.
