Connecting Portmone as a payment method
Portmone is a Ukrainian interbank electronic payment system. It specializes in online delivery and payment of invoices for various goods and services via the Internet using international payment cards Visa and MasterCard. The company has been operating since 2002 and is Ukraine's market leader in electronic payments.
Important: Payment methods are available on the Pro and Trial websites.
Sign up or log in to the existing for-business-account on Portmone:
Go to the Payment methods section in your site settings and click on the Add button next to Portmone:
After registration in the Portmone.com system and after the contract's signed up, you will be sent an email with the following information:
⠀⠀• login to access account management (login) — (1);
⠀⠀• password to access account management (password) — (2);
⠀⠀• company identifier in the Portmone.com system (payee id) — (3).
The letter itself will roughly look like this:
⠀⠀Please sign the updated Connection Agreement in your personal account. At the moment, the company is in test mode. The working mode of accepting payments will be
⠀⠀turned on after signing from both sides.
⠀⠀Parameters for receiving payments:
⠀⠀payee_id: 111111
⠀⠀Login: TEST
⠀⠀Password: the one that was specified during registration
These data must be entered in the payment system settings in your Weblium account:
In the Payment reference field (4), you can specify additional data transferred to Portmone along with the order. You can click on the Show variables button:
...and copy the variable from there, then paste it into the payment reference field. When ordering, instead of the specified variable, the required value will be substituted (order number, time, site domain, etc.), and transmitted as a payment description to Portomone:
Finally, you can also create pages for Success (5) and Failure (6) payments and then add their links to the corresponding fields.
Important: You should paste the links in the https:// format.
Tip: To know how to add pages, check this guide. You can also learn how to customize a "Thank you" page in this article.
After all the fields are filled in correctly, save the changes:
Note: After filling in all the fields, check if there are any spaces in front or behind the text. If they are, you need to delete them since the payment will not go through because of this.
Return to the Payment methods section, and in the Connected payment methods subsection, make sure the switch next to the newly added Portmone is on:
Publish your site for the changes to take effect.
You can connect Portmone in test mode to test the payment method's operation without using your bank card. To do this, you need to activate the test mode.
In order to turn the test mode on or off, you must send a corresponding letter from the registered e-mail address to Portmone.com managers for cooperation with online stores at business@portmone.me.
Tip: You can learn more about the test mode in the Portmone documentation.
After the test mode is activated and test data provided for you, go back to the payment method settings, activate the test mode, and enter the received test login, password, and Payee ID:
Important: The non-test mode fields marked with an asterisk below must also be filled in. You can enter the same test merchant ID and payment key in them if you have not previously entered data for real payments in them.
Save changes and publish your website.
