Customizing a ready-to-use template
Weblium offers an easy-to-use site editor that not only allows you to create your site with just a few clicks, but also it allows you to easily manage it with the help of pre-designed blocks. You don't need to have special programming skills or an outstanding web-design experience to create your site. You can fully enjoy the convenience and simplicity of creating websites on our platform.
We made it simple for you to set up your online business by using our 350+ ready-to-use templates to go with. This article will help you customize your chosen template according to your needs to launch your fully-functioning website on Weblium.
To start with, watch our short video tutorial on how to get started with Weblium:
Sign up or log in to your existing account at Weblium.
Click Create a site on your dashboard:
In the new window that opens, you can find all the templates available in our gallery:
Tip: Review our Choosing a template for your website article to check more tips and tricks related to our template gallery.
Hover over a suitable template and click Start editing to proceed with creating your site:
Every template consists of blocks — full-width sets of elements that are easily adaptable to different screen resolutions. Texts, images, buttons and other block contents are called elements. They are usually gathered in columns or collections for quick customization. To see how you can edit those elements or columns, visit the page our article Managing elements.
Once you have opened your site editor, fill your site template with the relevant content that will describe what your company is about — change the default text to your own, insert your own images and provide your personal contact information. Also, customize the layout of your contact form to collect requests from your visitors.
Make sure your site doesn't have any dead ends that can spoil your site visitor's experience. For that, link all relevant elements on your site — buttons, emails, phone numbers, etc. Check the article Adding links to elements (click action) for detailed instructions.
If you find out that the structure of your chosen template doesn't fully meet your needs, you can add new blocks to your site pages or move the existing ones on this page or take them to your other site pages without a need to create them anew. Moreover, you can enrich the look of every block by adding additional elements to it — more buttons, lists, dividers, social icons, etc.
If you wish to change your site elements' color, you can just click the Site style button located in the page management menu section of your site editor's toolbar and make the necessary changes to your default site colors defined on your site color palette. Besides your site colors, you can also change site fonts and refresh your buttons' design within your site template. For that, navigate to the Site styles menu:
While setting up your page's content, you can switch between the existing pages of the template and add your new ones through the list of your pages:
Each site page in the editor is accessible only through its direct link. If you'd like the page to be seen in your site's navigation menu, you just need to link your site menu element in your header or footer. For that, follow the steps in the article Menu bar settings.
To proceed with your template customization, you can add your logo to the site, set up your global social links, change your site address and set up unique URLs for your pages. Customizing your site name in a browser tab and adding your site's favicon would help affirm your branding and allow your site visitors to distinguish your site's tab among the others.
Once you are ready to go live, upgrade your site to Pro subscription. This will allow you to connect your domain to your site and list it on Google's search result pages (as well as on those of other search engines). Adding your custom code to the site and using amazing integrations for contact forms are also available for a Pro site. We recommend to check our article Comparison of the Free, Trial, and Pro subscriptions to see our detailed explanation about your site's subscriptions and the features that can enrich your current site with a free subscription.
Publish your site to launch it live and make it accessible. You can still edit your site after publishing and to share the most recent changes of your site with your site visitors, you need just to publish your site with the changes applied. Yes, that simple!
After all these steps, you can do extra improvements and launch your blog or add Google Maps to the site.
Running your online-store on your site is not a dream any longer as at Weblium you can have Your Store on your site now, which can become a fully functional and stunning add-on to your existing business or it can become your business and a generous income source itself.
Moreover, you can also add various analytics to track the activity on your website or connect different third-party services that will help you manage your business. You can discover all the available integrations in the dedicated section of our Help Center: Integrations.
